British laws allow you to teach your kids at home. You are not even required to have a professional teaching degree or certification to home school your child. Moreover, you don’t have to follow the national curriculum for home education.
These liberating laws, along with the growing technological facilities and the growing disregard for the traditional school system, have culminated in the rise of home education.
A survey conducted by the Association of Directors of Children’s Services in November 2018 found that there were 57,873 children educated at home, a 27 percent rise in the previous year. A BBC research report suggests that there is a 40% rise of home-schooled children from the educational year 2014-15 to 2016-2017.
You can teach your child at home, either full or part-time. This is called home education but sometimes also referred to as elective home education or homeschooling. There is no legal paperwork required to start the home education.
